Payments and payouts
Delitero is launching soon. Join the waitlist and we will email you when it opens.
Every payment is charged directly on your own Stripe account; Delitero never holds your money. 5% per order, only when you sell. No subscription, no setup fee, no contract. Nothing else. Stripe separately charges its standard processing rate, paid to Stripe, as it would for any card payment you take.

What you keep of a $44.63 order
Stripe's exact fee varies by card. Delitero's 5% never does. No subscriptions, no other fees.
How the money flows
At checkout the customer pays through the Stripe Payment Element, and the charge is created on your connected Stripe account. Two deductions happen at the source:
- Delitero's 5%, collected as a platform fee on the charge. It is 5% of the order total excluding the tip, so a tip is never part of what we charge on. In most states a tip is not taxed either. New Hampshire is the exception: it taxes the part of a gratuity above 18% of the meal, and that tax goes to the state, not to us.
- Stripe's processing fee, Stripe's standard rate (2.9% + $0.30 for typical US cards; varies by card). This is Stripe's fee, paid to Stripe, not ours.
Everything else lands in your Stripe balance. The Payments page in your admin shows the fee receipt for a real recent order, so you can always see the exact arithmetic on your own numbers rather than an example.
Payouts
Payouts are Stripe's: your balance pays out to your bank account on your Stripe payout schedule, visible and configurable in your own Stripe dashboard. The admin Payments page shows your next and last payout. Delitero has no access to your bank account and cannot move your money.
Refunds
Refunds are issued from the order detail in your admin, in full or in part, and Stripe returns the money to the customer's card from your account. The order shows as Refunded once Stripe confirms it. Stripe's own refund policies apply, including that Stripe's original processing fee is not returned. Delitero's 5% from the original order is also not returned on a refund today.
Refunded at 6:38 pm
Refunded to your card. It can take 5–10 business days to appear.
Taxes
You do not type in a tax rate. Delitero works out the sales tax on each order from the rules for your business address, and on a delivery order from the address the order is going to. Where a state or a city wants the tax broken out as separate lines, the receipt shows those lines with the labels that jurisdiction uses. You are the merchant of record on your own Stripe account, so collected tax is part of your revenue and remitting it stays your responsibility, exactly as it is for in-person sales. Sales tax covers this properly.

If you leave, or we do
The Stripe account is yours: your balance, your payout history, your customers' payment relationship. Close your Delitero account and none of that is touched. If Delitero shut down, your Stripe account would keep working; you would lose the ordering page, not your money.
