Pricing model

Restaurant online ordering at 5% with no monthly fee

Last verified 2026-09-01

5% per order, only when you sell. No subscription, no setup fee, no contract. Nothing else. That is cheaper than a monthly plan below a certain volume and more expensive above it, and this page shows you where the line is rather than hoping you do not ask.

The rule of thumb

A commission beats a monthly plan below roughly twenty times the monthly fee in online sales. The arithmetic is simple: at 5%, you pay the same as a $X plan when 5% of your volume equals $X, and 5% of $20X is exactly $X.

Their monthly planBreak-even online volumeBelow that
$99 a month$1,980 a month5% is cheaper
$149 a month$2,980 a month5% is cheaper
$249 a month$4,980 a month5% is cheaper
$499 a month$9,980 a month5% is cheaper

Card processing is not in that comparison because it is roughly the same wherever you go: every platform's card rate lands near Stripe's, so it cancels out and the decision is about what sits on top of it.

What 5% costs at real volumes

Read the whole table, not the first row. Above about $2,000 a month, a $99 plan is cheaper per month than 5% and the gap widens as you grow. That is the honest shape of a commission, and anyone selling you one who does not show you this table is showing you half of it.

Where a commission genuinely wins

  • You are starting. A monthly plan charges you the same in your first month as in your best one. 5% of nothing is nothing, so the risk of trying is zero.
  • Your volume swings. A food truck in February, a bakery after the holidays, a patio place in the rain. A fixed cost in a bad month is the cost you notice.
  • You will not sign a term. Several platforms in this category auto-renew, charge to leave early, or make the term itself something you cannot read from anything they publish. A commission with no contract has nothing to escape from.
  • Small tickets. 5% of a $7 coffee order is 35 cents. A subscription is the same whether that order happens or not.

Where it does not

Above roughly $10,000 a month in online sales, an uncapped percentage is a worse deal than a flat plan, and we would rather you did that sum now than resent it later. If your online volume is already there and steady, price a subscription platform properly against us before you move. What online ordering actually costs does that comparison across the category.

What "nothing else" means

It means the list is empty, not short. No setup fee, no onboarding fee, no per-device fee, no hardware to buy or rent, no fee for the embed, no fee for the hosted ordering page, no fee for the Orders screen, no fee for the driver app, no fee for adding a team member, no fee for a menu change, no fee for leaving. Tips are excluded from the 5% and reach you in full. Alcohol lines are excluded too.

The one thing that is not free is card processing, and that is Stripe's, on your own Stripe account, at Stripe's own rate. We never present it as ours.

Common questions

What does 5% actually apply to?

The order total excluding the tip, and excluding alcohol lines with their tax and deposits. If a promo code discounts the order, it is 5% of what was actually charged.

Is there a setup fee or a contract?

No. No subscription, no setup fee, no monthly minimum, no contract term, and no cancellation charge. A month with no orders costs nothing.

Where does the 5% come from?

It is collected automatically as a platform fee on each successful payment, on your own Stripe account. You never get an invoice from us and we never pull money from your bank.

Do I still pay card processing?

Yes, at Stripe's own standard rate, paid to Stripe. Every platform pays a card rate near Stripe's, so the comparison between platforms comes down to what sits on top of it.

Is 5% always cheaper than a monthly plan?

No, and the arithmetic is on this page. A commission is cheaper below a break-even volume and more expensive above it. Work out your own number before you decide.

Break-even figures are arithmetic on the published plan prices they name, not quotes from any company. Work them against your own numbers. Pricing carries the full receipt for a single order.
