Payments and payouts

Delitero is launching soon. Join the waitlist and we will email you when it opens.

Every payment is charged directly on your own Stripe account; Delitero never holds your money. 5% per order, only when you sell. No subscription, no setup fee, no contract. Nothing else. Stripe separately charges its standard processing rate, paid to Stripe, as it would for any card payment you take.

How the money flows

At checkout the customer pays through the Stripe Payment Element, and the charge is created on your connected Stripe account. Two deductions happen at the source:

  • Delitero's 5%, collected as a platform fee on the charge. It is 5% of the order total excluding the tip. Tips are never fee'd and never taxed; they pass through to you whole.
  • Stripe's processing fee, Stripe's standard rate (2.9% + $0.30 for typical US cards; varies by card). This is Stripe's fee, paid to Stripe, not ours.

Everything else lands in your Stripe balance. The Payments page in your admin shows the fee receipt for a real recent order, so you can always see the exact arithmetic on your own numbers rather than an example.

Payouts

Payouts are Stripe's: your balance pays out to your bank account on your Stripe payout schedule, visible and configurable in your own Stripe dashboard. The admin Payments page shows your next and last payout. Delitero has no access to your bank account and cannot move your money.

Refunds

Refunds are issued from the order detail in your admin, in full or in part, and Stripe returns the money to the customer's card from your account. The order shows as Refunded once Stripe confirms it. Stripe's own refund policies apply, including that Stripe's original processing fee is not returned. Delitero's 5% from the original order is also not returned on a refund today.

Taxes

You set your sales tax rate in Settings, and checkout applies it to the order (never to the tip). You are the merchant of record on your own Stripe account, so collected tax is part of your revenue and remitting it stays your responsibility, exactly as it is for in-person sales.

If you leave, or we do

The Stripe account is yours: your balance, your payout history, your customers' payment relationship. Close your Delitero account and none of that is touched. If Delitero shut down, your Stripe account would keep working; you would lose the ordering page, not your money.
